Kimberly Sena Moore, MM, NMT, MT-BC

Founder, Director, Music Therapist 

Kimberly Sena Moore is a Board-Certified Music Therapist (#06923) and Neurologic Music Therapist. She serves as Regulatory Affairs Associate for the Certification Board for Music Therapists, practices music therapy through Neurosong Music Therapy Services, and runs the blog Music Therapy Maven.
 
Kimberly specializes in trauma and attachment, neurorehabilitation, special needs, and medical therapy treatments. She has been a board-certified music therapist since 2003 and has specialized training in Neurologic Music Therapy, with the designation of Fellow in the Robert F. Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy. Kimberly graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from the University of Iowa and received a Master’s in Music Therapy from Colorado State University.

While at the University of Iowa, Kimberly was one of the first Undergraduate Research Assistants working on the Iowa Cochlear Implant Team at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Department of Otolaryngology. Kimberly moved to San Diego, California in 2002 where she completed a 6- month music therapy clinical training internship with MusicWorx of California. In 2003, she moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and, as a graduate student at Colorado State University, served a research assistant on an EEG study investigating the effect of music as a mnemonic device on learning and memory in people with multiple sclerosis. Additionally, Kimberly served three years as the Assistant Director of the Center for Biomedical Research in Music at Colorado State University.

Kimberly began practicing music therapy in Northern Colorado in 2005 before starting Neurosong Music Therapy Services in 2006. Neurosong moved to Missouri in summer 2010 and Kimberly currently serves clients in the Warrensburg/Sedalia area.
Kimberly is an active presenter and has presented for local, regional, and national organizations across the country on a diverse range of topics. Kimberly is a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), the Colorado Association for Music Therapy (CAMT), Pi Kappa Lambda (the National Music Honor Society), and Sigma Alpha Iota (a woman’s music fraternity). She has served as Treasurer for the Colorado Association for Music Therapy and as a member of the Exam Committee for the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).
